A service advisor is an integral part of any car dealership, they are the first point of contact for customers leaving their vehicles in for work. We were delighted when Toyota announced they were running their first ever skills competition for service advisors, it was a great way to recognise all the hard work they do.
We take great pride in our after sales department and saw the skills contest as a great opportunity for our service advisor Gary to demonstrate his excellent customer relation skills. Gary had no hesitation in accepting the challenge and joined the other 45 participants in the first round of the contest, Gary did brilliantly and came out in top 5, and then the hard work really began as he began to prepare among other things a kaizen project for the final.
The final took place on Friday the 1st of November in Toyota Ireland, where Gary had to do a presentation of the project he completed as well as skills tests on appointment & booking in processes, & dispute resolutions all followed with a written exam. He excelled in every part of the process and we were delighted and proud when he was announced the overall winner.
He will now represent Toyota Ireland along with all the other European winners in a trip to Japan in 2020.
